Born in Toronto and raised in London, Ontario, Jessica Mitchell learned how to play guitar at the early age of 10 years old. At 14, she took on the task of writing lyrics, and quickly learned how to make melodies and music come together. Her trek through the teenaged years of her life were up and down, but have matured her greatly in songwriting, and in life itself. She has been noted as a Rock and Soul kind of songwriter, with her powerful voice and cutting lyrics. She finally recorded an EP in Hamilton, Ontario with Chuck McMillan in 2003, giving her motivation to move back to the big city of Toronto. So in December of 2004, she made the move to Toronto to get started on her career in music. Since then, she fronted the band Fourstar, who got the chance to perform at Canadian Music Week 2005 in Toronto, has played multiple shows in and around Toronto, and gained friendships with fellow musicians and fans around the city. A couple of those friendships led to interest by George Panagopolous and Steve Bigas of King Clancy and Porcelain Records, a new indie label based out of Toronto whose main goal is to make music for real fans of music. She was recently signed to the label, and is releasing her debut LP, currently untitled, later on this year. Following the release of the album is a tour of Canada and the United States, and a chance to let the world know who Jessica Mitchell is. Stay tuned for release dates and tour information. Shows will be posted on Myspace and her website www.jessicamitchell.ca is currently under construction by Paul Wilkins.
